Japanese Gardens - 48km

The Japanese Gardens at Tully were created between the years 1906-1910. The Gardens, planned to symbolise the 'Life of Man', are now of international renown and are acclaimed as the finest Japanese Gardens in Europe. The gardens are a living monument to the meeting of Eastern and Western cultures in a Western setting.

The National Stud - 48km

Established in 1946, the Irish National Stud combines an active role in the development and promotion of Irish bloodstock with its role as one of the country's major tourist attractions and it is the only Stud farm in Ireland open to the public.

Castletown House & Gardens - 7.5km

Castletown is Ireland's largest and earliest Palladian style house and along with 120 acres of the demesne lands. Built between 1722 and 1729 for William Conolly. It is now open to the public for the summer season.

Maynooth Castle - 3 minute walk

The castle was built before the middle of the thirteenth century and was the home of the Fitzgerald family from 1176 until the rebellion of Silken Thomas, the son of the ninth Earl of Kildare.
Today the partly-ruined building remains as a tourist attraction, with limited access possible.

St Patricks College Maynooth - 0.5km

National Seminary for Ireland, often known as Maynooth College. The college was officially established as the Roman Catholic College of St Patrick by an Act of Grattan's Parliament in 1795

The Royal Canal - 0.2km

The towpath along the canal which is adjacent to the Hotel , is now designated ‘The Royal Canal Way’. It is walkable from the 1st lock  to the 40th lock  & is being cleared further as restoration proceeds towards the Shannon & Longford.

Donadea Forest Park - 12km

The park covers 640 acres of mixed woodland It is part of the old Aylmer family estate. It has been a forest park since 1981, where the local community, and those from further a field in Kildare and Dublin have enjoyed, and continue to enjoy, the diversity of habitats, the walled stream, the lake, the castle, and the church, to mention a few.

Lullymore Heritage Park  - 41km

Lullymore Heritage & Discovery Park is a family day visitor attraction located on a mineral island in the Bog of Allen. The Park is a leading destination for families, school tours, birthday parties, tourists and also for the seasonal celebrations of Christmas, Easter and Halloween.

Fort Lucan Adventure Park - 12km

Fort Lucan is a fully supervised outdoor adventure playground for children aged 2-14. Kids create their own adventures as they discover secret slides, climb 40 foot towers and high walkways before zipping across the aeriel runways. Escape your friends in the maze or challenge them on the army-style assault courses.

Punchestown - 26km

The Home of Irish National Hunt racing since 1827 Punchestown Racecourse is set amidst 450 acres of magnificent Irish countryside in the heart of Ireland’s thoroughbred county. Today the state of the art facilities at Punchestown play host to approximately eighteen race meetings annually as well as numerous shows, concerts and events. The undoubted highlight being the five day Irish National Hunt

Fairyhouse Racecourse - 18km

Fairyhouse held its first meeting  in 1848 when the Ward Union hunt held their point-to-point at this venue. From these small beginnings Fairyhouse quickly established itself as one of Ireland's premier racecourses. In 1870 the Irish Grand National was run for the first time and it quickly became Ireland's most valuable and prestigious steeplechase and each success has its own rich tale. Fairyhouse has always been one of the finest and fairest racecourses and continues to attract the leading horses both on the flat and over jumps.

Carton Golf - 1.5km

Carton boasts two Championship golf courses, the Montgomerie and the O’Meara.
It is also home to the Golfing Union of Ireland head quarters and National Coaching Academy. The GUI is the oldest golfing union in the world formed in 1861, there is also a golf museum as part of the development.

K- Club - 8km

You may have been forewarned that Ireland's first Ryder Cup Venue is no ordinary golf course, and that it is widely acknowledged as the country's most challenging inland layout. The Ryder Course is, quite simply, one of Europe's most spectacular courses. It charms, it entices and invariably, brings out the very best in your game. Designed by Arnold Palmer, The Palmer Ryder Course and The Palmer Smurfit Course are considered two of Europe's finest Championship Courses.

Croke Park Stadium - 27km

The home of Gaelic Games, since its foundation in 1884, headquarters of the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association), and with a capacity for 82,300 people, Croke Park has been at the heart of Irish sporting life for over a hundred years. An inspirational venue not only for GAA supporters and players but also for spectacular performances including  Concerts, The Opening and closing ceremonies of the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games . In 2007 the home of Gaelic Games hosted international rugby and soccer fixtures for the first time.
